Al Rayes Reef is a hidden gem for scuba diving enthusiasts. With warm temperatures of 31°C and excellent visibility of up to 20m, it is an ideal dive site for beginners as well
as snorkellers. The lack of current makes for a comfortable and easy 60-minute dive that offers a chance to explore the underwater world without rushing.
As divers descend, they’ll be greeted by a stunning underwater landscape, featuring a wide sandy plateau adorned with corals and coral pinnacles around the base of a lighthouse. Divers are
also sure to encounter some of the marine creatures that frequent this reef, including jackfish, whale sharks and groupers.
Al Rayes Reef is not only a paradise for scuba divers, but it’s also located just off the coast of the stunning Al Rayes White Head Beach, providing a perfect opportunity for visitors to combine their underwater adventure with a day of relaxation on the beach’s picturesque white sands.
With a range of seaside activities on offer, from swimming and sunbathing to beach volleyball and water sports such as jet skiing and parasailing, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. For those looking to extend their stay and fully immerse themselves in the beauty of the area, camping is also possible. However, special permits are required, and visitors must arrange them through the dedicated stations in Al Rayes.
