The southernmost site in AMAALA is Hawaz Beach, which offers a beautiful haven for snorkellers within its crystal-clear waters.
With both sites featuring depths of 10–30m, Hawaz Beach is a great location for freedivers, beginner and advanced divers, and snorkellers. All are sure to find exploring Hawaz Breach a scenic and tranquil experience.
Located close to shore, this spot also boasts crystal-clear visibility, which permits divers a unique perspective from an unusual vantage point. While underwater, divers can gaze up towards the sky for a view of the towering mountains located on the mainland. Combined with the colourful coral and fish below, this picturesque seascape will be one you recall for the rest of your life.
The bluecheek butterflyfish is golden in colour and gets its name from the blue patches located right below their eyes. These fish prefer
to travel in pairs or as a group, so rest assured if you spot one, that more are likely nearby.
Further down the reef wall, divers will discover various reef fish swimming among soft and hard coral formations. Divers can also spot large groupers, kaleidoscopic anthias and endearing clownfish revelling amongst the coral heads. Keep focused, though, and be sure to keep a safe distance from the numerous colonies of fire coral.
Make sure to keep a sharp lookout for the graceful movements of any nearby eagle rays. These creatures can typically be found swimming along the sandy ocean floor. However, they can occasionally be caught jumping high out of the water in stunning spectacles, using their wing-like fins to propel them.
